We made it to Texas!

We left Albuquerque and drove into the night. Konrad woke up and we stopped at a gas station that had a car museum. A perfect stop if you ask Konrad. He loved seeing all the cars and toys on display. He was a little disappointed that he wasn't allowed to play with the toys though.

We found a hotel in Amarillo Texas. After a nice hotel breakfast we headed to Cadillac Ranch and looked at the vintage Cadillacs buried in the ground. Jeff left our signature on one of the cars.

It was very windy and cold that morning so Konrad and I tried to stay warm.

We hopped back into the car and drove to Lubbock and checked out the Buddy Holly Museum. Konrad liked the construction vehicles the best.

We MADE IT! We finally made it to Austin Late Friday night. Our journey took 5 days.
On Saturday we found an apartment and now our new life in Austin can begin.

Arizona and New Mexico

Our road trip continues and we made it to Flagstaff Arizona. We started with some fun play at the local library (forgot to take pictures) and then we headed to a coffeeshop for a little fun break.

We had dinner at a little burger place that had amazing burgers before we continued on our trip towards a hotel for the night.

We made it to Albuquerque New Mexico late and found a hotel. The next morning we went to explore the town for breakfast. Konrad managed to lose a shoe. We never found it so he became the kid that ran around with one shoe. After a while he ditched the other shoe and socks as well.

We can almost see Texas. So close, we are almost there!

Santa Barbara and Route 66

We drove to Santa Barbara during Konrad's nap and we got there at lunchtime. Santa Barbara is a beautiful town and we found a cute Italian restaurant for some lunch. The restaurant was in an alley so Konrad could run around a little while we ate.

For Fika (Swedish word for dessert and coffee) we had amazing Gelato ice-cream and Coffee. I think Konrad ate more of my Gelato than I did.

We let Konrad lead the way for the exploring until dinner time when we met up with our friend Gabriela. She's going to University of Santa Barbara so it was nice to be able to see her on our drive through the city.

After our amazing dinner we had a long 8hr drive ahead of us to Flagstaff Arizona. We didn't quite make it all the way as planned because Konrad woke up and decided he didn't want to sit in the carseat anymore. We found a hotel slept and played a little then we headed for the road again.

For second breakfast/early lunch Kornad wanted to stop (i.e. didn't want to sit in the car any longer) at Roadkill Cafe along Route 66. This place looked like a movie prop and check out the size of the water glass! Food was good and we put Konrad in Jail before we headed towards flagstaff.
